Severely Damaged Hair....?

What products are best for severly damaged hair? I had my hair highlighted about 3 weeks ago, but the stupid hairdresser left the bleach on for far too long (despite him disagreeing with me).

Should I dye my hair back to my natural colour (darkest brown) so the damaged ends aren't visible? *ive had it trimmed loads so its not that bad anymore*

Also what products should I use? Kerastase Bain Satin for very dry and damaged hair? or KMS Moist Repair or Joico K-Pak??

If not those, can anyone reccomend things I can use... plz help :( :( :( x

hot oil treatment, or a mask

Leave in conditioner makes your hair shiny %26amp; soft to touch. There is color treating leave in conditioner so maybe you should try that.

do NOT dye ur hair again ur hair will probably fall out

use heavy moisturizers like the Pantene line (its cheap and actually works better then the salon brands, Herbal Essences is good too)

After you shower put Jonh Freida's smoothing serum on it to protect it and try not to blow-dry it!

hope this helps

When i first had my hair highlighted it went very frizzy and quite dry, i would reccomend using redken shampoo and conditioner it is quite expensive, but it has very impressive results, i owuld also adivse not straightening or blowdrying your hair for about a week, trt puting curlers in wet hair or something, give your hair change to nurish itself again :D best of luck :D xx

I dyed all my hair two weeks ago from blonde to brown (its natural color). Be careful, because my first result was slightly greenish because the blonde wasn't absorbing the pigment evenly. After I used a color that was warm brown, it evened out.

If you decide to dye it back, you may want to consider using a protein filler first to increase the odds of the highlights taking the color, and stay with a warm, not neutral or cool, brown color. It will dye darker than it says.

As far as conditioners go, I like Joico K-Pak, but I love Original Crema by Terax. You can purchase it at Sephora.com if you can't find it in a beauty store near you. Your hair will be so soft, you will find yourself touching it. :) John Frieda makes a conditioner for brunettes that works well.

Good luck, and I hope this helps! :)

k-pak, a keratin refix, or an emergency treatment ( Paul Mitchell )

use hot oil or a kerastase repair mask for the hair. Personally, I use olive oil once a week, then wash it off. It gievs my hair a nice shine!

I had the same problem until just recently, but I heard about a product called Biolustre. This product is unbelievable. You can't find it in the stores, and i've asked at more than one Beauty Supply and they never heard of it, but you can order it from theior website at Biolustre.com. Give it a try, it transformed my thick, coarse frizzy hair like nothing I've ever used before, and believe me I've tried everything out there.

right whatever condotioner you do use, makes sure its a RECONSTRUCTOR - as these help repair the hair.

i.e. paul mitchell hair repair, aussie miracle 3 min treatment.

also using a moisture conditioner will help...

for maximum effect - mix a few conditioners together....comb through wet hair and leave for a good hour or so.

also using a leave in conditioner will help detangle hair meaning less damage...i.e. aussie miracle leave in coditioner...or boots coconut leave in conditioner.

T.I.G.I. do a product called 'Ego Boost' its in a pink bottle spaped like a triangle...thts very good @ smoothing hair.

and using a thermal protection spray to stop hair gettin heat damage.

p.s. DONT colour your hair for a while...

You don't want to do anymore damage to your hair than has already been done. There is a product called cholesterol, you can get it at beauty supply stores like Sally's, it works very well. If not in your area, a cream conditioner and leave it on as long as possible. You could even use mayonnaise. Keep your hair in a shower cap, sit under a dryer (with cap on hair) with it on warm. It may be too damaged to repair, but it may help keep it manageable until you can get rid of the over processed ends.
