How long do Highlights last?

I just got my hair highlighted and i absolutely love it, but i want to know how long i can expect them to last and also what should i do when my roots start to grow back in? Do i get my whole head re-highlighted or just my roots?

depending on how dark yur natural colour is the darker it is the quicker you'll need it done i have a really light brown colour so my roots always blend in with my highlights so i usually get it done once every 3-4 months if your have really dark roots i reccommend every 8 weeks. u will only need to get half a head of highlights so probably just the t section and a couple on the back if u had full head thjis time and they will only need to do the roots if they are going over the same highlights... some hairdressers take a few to the ends wherethe colour has faded.
