When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

I get my hair highlighted blonde about every 3 months. I go to a professional, and I'm usually very happy with the results. However, this time, I have a bad spot of fried hair on the top of my head where I part my hair. My hair is very, very straight and fine, so it feels horrible (crunchy!). Is there any way to get rid of this? Please help!

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

Once hair is damaged,it's damaged, but you can do things to make it look and feel better and prevent breakage. You should go back to the salon and complain and tell your stylist that you want free reconstructor treatments. That will help with the dryness and hopefully prevent breakage. Your stylist should NEVER overlap when she is doing the high lights, just the new growth should be done.

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

I haven't had reconstructor treatments, but I have heard allot about them. Apparently they help allot. It could mean the difference between short broken off hair and still having all your length. The treatments are protein and moisture. Report It

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

The only way it will completely repair is to cut it .. But I would go back to the stylist and demand your money back. I suggest using hot oil treatments and perhaps a leave in conditioner..((vo5)) or thermasilk

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

It sounds like a chemical haircut, the volume used with the bleach was most likely very high therefore it burned some of the roots of your hair.

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

I have had the same thing happen.. I used a conditioner. I have also used body lotion...in small amounts. I know it can also be very uncomfortable. The best thing tho is to tell your beautician, maybe they just got too busy to get to you sooner.

Good luck

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

It sounds like she either left the color on too long or she shouldn't have put color in because you hair may have been damaged already. Go back to her so that she can give you a series of professional conditioning treatments

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

Go back and show them and They SHOULD d a free conditioning treatment since it is thier fault.......if not demand a refund and make it clear u will not be back if they dont make it right

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

try usingshampoos that will soften ur hair..cause it sounds like ur hair is burnt...and it kind of hard to get rid of burnt hair..try silkening shampoos and leave in conditioners..those should work

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

my hair is red, but i want to have the experience of non permanently dying it black, it comes out in 8-10 shampoo washes, so what would your suggestion be for brands, colors i should die my hair/highlight/streak, my hair?

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

I'd kill for another hair colour. Mine's dark chocolate brown giving the apperance of black. I think for the best possible outcome and answer you better go to a salon or to a stylist and ask this. Before someone gives you some very, very bad advice.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

because its such a drastic change, u should probably get it done professionally.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

Don't try it yourself if you're a first-timer! Go to a good salon and get it non-permanently dyed there. Don't risk it at home. Even if it is non permanent, you could have a non-permanent mutilated hair color!!!

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

STOP! Do not semi permanently dye your hair black when you have any coloring or highlighting or lightening stuff already in your hair. What happens is your hair becomes porous from the previous treatments and the black coloring permanent or not will get sucked up into the hair like a sponge. The effect can vary... hair with red and previously lightened in any way can turn GREEN when mixed with black. It wont wash out! This is an issue that we woman do not comprehend when wanting a change. Red is in all colors and what is taken out when dark hair is made blonde. Red will cause your new black hair to go green in maybe certain places especially your ends. If your hair is virgin hair and red you may have a shot at it but it will probably come out with red highlights. If you want to highlight your hair use thin strands and go bronze or copper colored. I suggest a hairstylist until you establish the color of the streaks you want to suit you.

Please heed my warning on the black semi-washout-stuff. You will be going back to school or work as a parrot.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

Dnt do it as black takes all da natural pigment out of ur hair!!

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

I've been coloring my hair since I prematurely grayed in my 20's. I let it grow out last year for my 50th birthday. I'm about 90% white. I look much older than my age and washed out. I was recently offered my senior citizen discount! I live in fear of someone thinking I'm my husband's MOTHER!

I want to add some color back with shades of blonde and light brown highlights. My beautician has never done it or seen it done. I'd rather experiment myself than pay that kind of money. I welcome uggestions on how. I'm not asking if I should.

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

How about a reverse frost? Instead of having to take the color out....all you would have to do is pull your hair through the cap...then just put the color you want on it! You would need to look for some hair color or toner that would really soak into your hair. I have very stubborn gray around my face. I bought some hair color, and I'm going to do it myself this weekend.

Hope this helps...and good luck!

Edited to add....there are also hair coloring kits that you 'paint' the color on with a brush. I used that on my sister one time, and she loved it!

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

Thank you for the points..and the tip about the Magic gray...I may try that as well! We have a Sally's close by.

Good luck! Report It

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

go to the hair salon

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

That is an awesome idea. Don't stick with a color you don't like.

First, I would not reccommend doing it yourself. It seems like what you are looking for is more subtle and natural results and those can best be achieved through a colorist. If you get the right color, you won't have to go back too often for touch ups. So, find a colorist (someone experienced in hair coloring).

I would say that you should go with a pale blond, since your hair is white and that way the roots won't be obvious if they grow out a little. Go with a "single process" color, which is technically a temporary color but lasts a long time and gives your hair a lot of shine too.

Have her choose a pale ash blonde (if you have a cool skin tone) or a pale golden blonde if you have a warm skin tone. Once this single process color is in, your colorist can add some lighter highlights to make it look more natural and to make root growout even less noticeable.

It will look awesome!

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

I saw this thing on TV that you can use to highlight your hair. I want to wear highlights in my hair at special occasions. I am graduating from 6th grade (elementary). I want to wear them there. Plz help!

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

ADDITIONAL REPLY: YOU ARE PROBIBLY BEST OFF getting some type of :paint on" color effects you can find a wide selection at a beauty supply. Also places like Wal-mart might have some too.

First let me explain: highlights refers to the use of chemicals (color and/or Bleach) to permantly lighten your haircolor. However today there are many other types of "streaking effects" used some are called "lowlights" or a "reverse color weave".

Then there are some fun shampoo out products people can "paint" on their hair which come in colors like pink, red, black and so on. So it depends on what exactly you were thinking of (color) and what color your hair is now. as well as if you have any other chemicals on your hair (sun-in, perms, colors,) even if it was used a year ago its important to know. If you have a reg. stylist you should ask them if they can just help in suggesting something for you. Yes its complicated but you are talking about chemicals so be careful

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

it's probably good to get a low peroxide like 20% or 10% mixed with the bleach, and check on it every 5-10min. i say this because the bleaching kit at some beauty supply stores sometimes can be very strong, there is also this product called Sun-In... i think they still sell at the Drug stores. if that doesn't work the next best thing is to go to a professional Hairstylist.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

i have very very dark hair its the darkest shade of black

and i was wondering what color of highlights should i get

and what color would look the best..

my hair is long.like around my back.

and should i also get layers???

What color should i highlight my hair?????

I am a professional so if you want it to look natural you never go over 3 shades lighter or darker. If your hair is very black like solid black you have a blue base, then I would go with a Violet colour it would look so beautiful. If you have what we call white mans black which is more like a brown black you will have a red base. In that case you can go with reds, browns whatever. If you want punk well all colours will work. Layers will depend on your facial shape. If your hair is very thick layers may not work because layers will give you volume. But you could still have them if you have your hair thinned out after. If I saw a pic of you I could give you better advice, and if I knew what you are looking for. But I hope this helps. The one way to know if you have true black would be if you are like Indian or something like that. Their hair is a true blue black.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

light reddish brown and i would get layers i think they are cute

What color should i highlight my hair?????

i think a deep brown with a hint of red looks great on dark hair, a nice auburn color with layers will look the best i think.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

hi i think pink and you should get layers it will look awsome!!

What color should i highlight my hair?????

maybe a caramel brown would look quite cute, get highlights under your layers though so you see flashes of colour, that way you don't get horrid re-growth, and the colour looks a lot quirkier that way!

What color should i highlight my hair?????

blond

What color should i highlight my hair?????

Blue or purple highlights look great on black hair. ;-)

What color should i highlight my hair?????

I think u should get a darker almost brown red, that's not 2 bright, but noticeable. Layers too. Layers take a lot of weight off ur hair if u have thick or long hair. It will look awesome when it's done. :)

What color should i highlight my hair?????

ok well you should get dark brown high lights but not to dark but anof to see them. and yes you should get them layered they would look HELLA pretty i have indian hair and there layer and yeah i freakin love my hair it looks so pretty and are you indian? im indian you go gurl if your indian.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

So I get my hair highlighted (blonde) and for some reason the top layer of my hair feels HORRIBLE-like crunchy. WHat can I do to fix this problem?! I would really appreaciate any help. Thank you!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Wella Kolestral. I used it when I had a real tight perm on top of dyed hair. It worked wonders. I wrapped my head and used a bonnet hair dryer.

http://www.wellausa.com/consumer/product...

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

just get some really good shampoo or conditioner, its because you got it bleached and it effed up your hair.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

hot oil treatment. pick it up at rite-aid. worked great for my cousin and didnt mess up the color. if that doesnt work, go yell at your stylist.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

I know shave it bald! Then you will think for a change and solve a simple problem on your own. Good Luck!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

go get it fixed or take a shower if u have a certain shampoo then use it to help with the problem and please help me with my question

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Go to a hair dresser and ask them what you can do to help it. That is the only thing i would do because if you tryed something to make it better, you could make it worse.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

try buying some shampoos and conditioners as well as leave on conditioners for perm colored treated hair they do make youre hair much better i've tried them before go to waltmart on any other pharmacy store

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

You can go back to the salon you had it done at and they will give you help, hopefully for free. It is their responsibility to make sure that your hair is healthy when it leaves, after they have done their work!!

Otherwise, a good solution is to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Brush it with a paddle brush and then dry. If it is still crunchy, you really do need to go see the salon and get help from them. Ask for a refund if they refuse!

Hope this helps!!!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

try a different shampoo, maybe one that helps color stay

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

It happens due to the chemicals that are used. I get some conditioning stuff that is called Queen Helene Professional Cholesterol hair conditioning cream. It is for dry, over bleached hair. It works wonders. I put it on my dry head and let it stay for about 15 to 30 minutes and then wash it. It takes about 3 times shampooing it to get it out, but it is amazing. Then I use a heavy conditioning cream once a week. Good Luck

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

You need PROTEIN you have probably over processed your hair and you need to use a shampoo and conditioner and a leave in also, that contain protein like Biosilk or go to Visible Changes at your mall if there is one and ask for any WELLA products that contain protein. This isn't going to be cheap.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Try a hot oil treatment. Don't laugh but mayo helps too. The oils in it, slather it on dry hair, let it soak for about 5 minutes and then wash it out really well. Keep conditioning, maybe try some leave in, don't wash it everyday unless you have to b/c of oil. Don't over use products like hairspray, gel and mouse that contain alcohol and can dry your hair out. Instead try pomades and glosses. You could also try shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Good Shampoo and Conditioner that moiserizes (spelled that wrong lol.) your hair

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

I've never had my hair hi-lighted b/c I have natural blonde hi-lights but, anyway, my best answer is to shampoo and condition it really well... wash all the way to the scalp.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Condition, Condition, Condition!! There are plenty of leave-in conditioners that you can use. Make sure to use shampoo and conditioner that are specifically made for color-treated hair. Also pick up some leave-in anty-frizz serum, there are plenty of different brands around. You can also pick some ultimate moisturizing conditioner, you can either use it instead of the conditioner after shampooing, or apply it to your damp hair once you are out of the shower.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Sorry to say, I've had this happen. It's when you have too much highlights or too often, or the colorist used too strong a % of bleach. It's just dryness and damage. Using the best at-home treatment every 3-5 days can help. I like Bed Head's "Treat Me Right". It comes in a big tub and really softens it again. Try to stay away from hot irons and dryers for a while, and shampoo as little as possible.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

your hair is over processed and is now damaged and straw like. get a good treatment for your hair. Joico K PAK is fantastic. it has a reconstructor in it so when you use it the molecules in the treatment are working to repair the damage done. its also packed with proteins that are going to help as well. you can find it at most salons.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

condition the crap out it, its very fragile right now and in danger of breaking. make sure it is very conditioned. stop the highlighting as soon as your past this point, its really not worth it when you consider the touch up work that has to be done. i think wha they did was over-process the top where the roots are, contact the salon!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

get a good deep conditioning treatment or hair mask pronto, the highlighting makes your hair very dry because it destroys the outer layer of your hair in order to take out the pigments that make your hair darker. You'll also need to get a shampoo and conditioner that is moisturizing and make for color treated hair. A drastic tip would be to change your shower head to one that takes out the impurities in water that make it "hard". Soft water (water without the impurities) is better for hair and skin.

Hair stripped?

ok so two years ago i started getting my hair highlighted and now im wondering about getting rid of them all to get my natural color back. is that possible with getting my hair stripped? or will it cause too much damage?

Hair stripped?

the healthiest way would be just to let them grow out and not get them re done.. or just die your hair back to your natural color

Hair stripped?

Do NOT get your hair stripped I got this done %26amp; my hair is dry at the ends.I have to moisturize every other day %26amp; I wouldn't want that to happen to someone else.

Hair stripped?

you dont have to strip your hair at all. depending on what color highlights you have, all you have to do is fill in the missing pigment and color your hair its original color. stripping your hair would turn your whole head orange-its like bleaching the whole thing-damagine. getting rid of the highlights would actually be healthy for your hair. i do recommend that you go to a professional who knows color-that way you get what you want in the end. if you do it yourself you may mess up and leads to color over color which obviously not good for your hair. if you wanted to try it yourself, use a demi permanent or a semi permanent color to your natural -your hair was bleached to highlight it if its naturally black-so if you use a semi or demi on it chances are the highlights will soak up the color.

Hair stripped?

You can wait till your hair grows. Or you can dye your highlights to your natural color

Hair stripped?

I'm the same

but it kinda sucked fro me cause my hair was getting damaged

so you should just grow out you hair and then get it cut or you can just trim your hair every month

Wat should I do wit my hair???

I just got my hair highlighted and cut, the stylist used mousse while it was wet and sprayed it wit something and then put some oily stuff on it, she blowdried it and flipped the ends out but now I am afraid to wash my hair because I think that I won't be able to get my hair the way it was... wat should I do???

Wat should I do wit my hair???

Stop worrying about it so much you shallow cow.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

You're going to have to wash it at some point. Call your stylist and ask what products she used and what kind of brushes you will need to replicate the style. I never get my hair like my hairstylist does because they have blowdryers and hair straighteners that are much better than mine.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

call the stylist and ask her the products that she used and then go to the local store and see if u can get them and then wash ur hair and do it u can use a straighter too instead of a brush and blow drier ask the shampoo and condition as well sometimes if u get the right products it will help to get it the way u have it when they did it

Wat should I do wit my hair???

i think u must be careful when do something like that

Should i dye or highlight my hair?

I already have blonde highlights over my natural light brown hair.. but they're starting to come out %26amp; im thinking of getting more highlights to touch up or to have all of it dyed.. All of my friends said it would look good dyed but when my roots start showing i dont want it too look really fake and i dont want to have to keep dyeing it every few weeks.

So what would you reccomend..? and all of it would be done in a salon

Should i dye or highlight my hair?

If you don't want to dye your whole head of hair, I suggest getting a couple more highlights, so it looks more blonde.

Advice on whether to dye or highlight my hair?

I have thick curly hair and have never dyed my hair so I need advice. My hair is naturally dirty blonde but in the winter it gets a lot darker and I want to lighten it. Should I dye it all over or get highlights? What is the average price for each? Also, where can I go so I know they know how to work with curly hair b/c not every place does.

Advice on whether to dye or highlight my hair?

First time coloring is always best to highlight..It gradual and suttle.....Highlighting with foils will usually start at about 65.oo and up..Color all over would start at about 45...Ask around and call for a reputable salon colorist and one who has been in the business for awhile..Curly hair isnt tough to work with when your doing highlights...Its the cutting that is tough...

Advice on whether to dye or highlight my hair?

That usually happens with most peoples hair. In the winter it gets darker, and in the warmer months and summer it lightens. Sometimes people let it go dark in the winter. Like my friend would put blonde highlights in for the summer and then like a red or something for the winter. Your hair changes because of the seasons... no big deal. It usually costs around $60 or more for like color. Highlights are usually more sometimes but it also depends on if you get a full or partial highlight. Winter is almost over so I dont think you have much to worry about. If you spend a lot of time in the sun when Spring and Summer roll around it will get a lot lighter on its own. I dont know about places that dont know how to deal with curly hair. I dont understand why they shouldnt be good with that kind of hair... we learn everything in Cosmo. You should call around and ask any kind of question you have and go with the most knowledgable, and nice/caring person because they will most likely care about you and what they do to your hair and go with a good and reasonable price.

Advice on whether to dye or highlight my hair?

thats a nice culour .. my nat colour was dat but dont dye all your hair..have sections done ..not little hilights.. have more dramatic layering blond down mixed with your natural will look gorgous!

Advice on whether to dye or highlight my hair?

Should you color your hair??? Tough question as nobody can answer that except you. Hair coloring is expensive and a lot of maintenance.

As a hairstylist I recommend you talk to yours. But here is my advice.

As you probablly know your hair darkens as the sun is not as bright and the heat not as intense in the winter. An all over color is harder to maintain than a hightlighted weave.

The cost of color and highlights varies depending on the stylist. To color all over you're probablly looking at about $50 - $90, for highlights somewhere in the range of $75 and up.

To find somewhere that knows how to work with your type of hair. The best advice is to look for someone on the street that has your same type of hair that looks great. Ask her!!!!

Curly hair is hard to work with and most hairstylists will jack it up if not done right. Curly hair must be cut at an almost perfect 90 degree angle all over the the layers colapse upon themselves and you don't end up having an afro.

Good luck

Which hair care do you think is better, Aveda Color Care Shampoo & Conditioner or Bumble & B

I just had my wavy hair highlighted and I want to keep it shiny and healthy, my mom uses bumble %26amp; bumble gentle shampoo %26amp; conditioner and my friend uses Aveda Color Care shampoo and conditioner, which one (through experiance) do you recommend or think it better? What is the average cost in Connecticut for highlights?

I have shoulder length hair and just got my hair highlighted and trimmed (not a full cut) for $175.00. Is that the average you are paying?

What is the average cost in Connecticut for highlights?

It all depends on where you got it done and exactly what they did. Most places here charge for the wash, the hair dyeing, the trim, and the blow drying.

I do think its a bit over priced, but I dont think its possible to get a your hair done at an up-scale salon in CT for under $100 bucks.

But if you would like some advice on where to go next time.... I would go to The JC penney salon in West Farms Mall. At first I thought they would do crappy, old lady , out-dated kind of hair styles...but they actually are really good, 2 of my aunts and my best friend go there and their hair alwasys looks great. They do awesome dye and highlighting jobs.

:)

I Have my hair highlighted..?

I got it highlighted 3 weeks ago. When am I aloud to get it rehighlighted? Also, are you aloud to Highlight over a color,Or do I need to dye it back to my original color(Color Unknown to you)?

I Have my hair highlighted..?

Three weeks should be long enough to rehighlight it.....the only concern is that the new color may not come out the same when put on top of the first color (i.e. if you got blond highlights and then did red on top, the red might come out lighter or orange).

You don't have to go back to the original color first, but some people prefer to do that if they're trying to get a certain look.

Frizzy Superthick hair?

i have Frizzy super thick hair i've had my hair highlighted 2 or 3 times did that ruin my hair or should i change my shampoo? and i also get dandruff how can i get rid of it?

Frizzy Superthick hair?

for dandruf use head n shoulders 2 or 3 times. it works. after that use a good moisturizing shampoo like pantene. dont use any heat irons or blowdriers on your hair it will make it worse. perhaps some moisturizing hot oil will help, you can find it in most of the stores, use it once a week.

Frizzy Superthick hair?

any dandruff shampoo will get rid of dandruff.

I highlighted my hair and it did not frizz up on me. Find a good conditioner - use a flatiron to calm it down a bit.

Frizzy Superthick hair?

well my hair is thick curly and frizzy.. unless i leave the cinditioner in my hair for a while when i shower and i use anti-frizz cream and curl control moose to keep my curls pretty and tame.

Frizzy Superthick hair?

the highlights have nothing to do with the frizzyness of your hair. you should get you hair layered bc it makes your hair not as full and heavy. it makes it alot less frizzy and full. try a herbal essesences frizz control shampoo and conditioner

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

I really want to try highlights for the first time but I am afraid this will really dry my hair out since curly hair is already dry. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with this?

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

Keep in mind that the more drastic the hair-color change, the more difficult the coloring job may be. Don't go more than two shades lighter.

At home, color should never be applied from the root to the end in one step. Color should be left on the roots for about 10 minutes, then extended to all of the hair for an additional 10 minutes.

If you highlight your curls at home, be sure to brush the highlight evenly and carefully from the root to the end before wrapping the hair in foil. If highlights are applied too quickly, the hair will not be properly covered. Most importantly, at least one-third of a curl has to be in the foil. "If a curl is fat or tight," Christo says, "and if not enough hair is picked up into the foil, the highlighting will not work properly." The right coloring techniques also affect how your highlights look. Be sure you understand what's needed should you color and highlight on your own.

When highlighting, don't do too much of the hair, and don't highlight near the hairline, Christo advises. It's best to highlight half an inch from the hairline, so if mistakes are made they won't show.

If you want to color or highlight at home to cut down on expensive salon visits, talk to your colorist, says Christo. Ask for advice on shades, brands and techniques. And, he adds, there's some good news about curly hair: It doesn't show the roots as much, so touchups are needed less often. You might need a touchup for single-process color every six to eight weeks. Highlights for single-process color can be redone every five to six months.

To avoid drying out your hair, shorten the application time. "Take the time from the package instructions and reduce that by one-third," Christo says. "Check the hair with a comb; if the color looks good, rinse it out. In the salon I never color for more than 20 minutes and I always achieve wonderful results."

A single teaspoon of olive oil added to a color or highlight right before applying it at home can create healthier conditions for the hair and scalp.

Finally, Christo says, lush curls and waves need attention and regular conditioning. "As long as the hair is healthy, a woman can achieve any color she desires." His salon recommends a silky cream called Deep Therapy Masque, which he applies for 8 to 10 minutes. You can also look for any deep-hydrating product that will keep color-treated hair healthy and full of body.

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

I've done it, several times, and I've come to accept that my hair will look like brillo unless I condition it into submission, put all kinds of goo in it, and never be in humidity above 4%. This is either with or without highlights. I love to color my hair, so I try not to heat style, and get them professionally done, that should be less risk to your hair. Should be. Keep it trimmed, and good luck!

Highlighting is actually better than dying ur hair..so yea.. highlight is good....

Curling ur hair makes ur hair dry? really? omg! Im actually thinking about doing that! *shucks*

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

i have curly hair and i highlight it. but my secret is called "hair fixer" which is sold at sally's. It consists of 6 blue pills that you mix with a solution and apply to your hair. I swear if you folllow the box's instructions it works as a miracle

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

Anytime you lighten your hair you run da risk of damaging it because da chemicals used to highlight work by stripping color off your hair. If you deep condition on a regular basis and go to someone who is a real colorist, you should be okay without drying or damaging your hair. But stay away from do it urself highlight kits and wannabe hairdressers. Better to pay da extra money and get it done right den 2 have ur hair lookn lyk da scarecrow in da Wiz! :)

What is the difference between single process color, foil, and partial highlights?

I am considering having my hair highlighted. I have very dark hair and want something natural looking, yet striking and so my grey hair isn't noticed. I want it to look professional as I am a 32 yr. old mother, wife, administrative assistant and a Southern Living At HOME consultant. I don't want to look like some crazy college kid.

What is the difference between single process color, foil, and partial highlights?

You should cover your (antique blonde) w/ your natural color either foil it or all over, and choose a second color w/in two shades different from your nat. and weave it in as well, or if you color it all over choose a color 3 to for shades diff, and foil 4 to 5 foils on the top for the nat. affect.

single process is= all over color.

foil is my fav, it is placed where (YOU) want it to be.

partial foil is mostly to cover the top and sides of your hair.

What is the difference between single process color, foil, and partial highlights?

you should go for some auburn highlights. they make your hair have a subtle summer streaked look, while stil being age efficient and natural.

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

The past 3 times I've had my hair highlighted by this girl I've had to go back the next day to have her adjust my color to what I really wanted the first time. I know it's not easy getting the perfect color-but this time she sent me home with hair that's kind of orange and I really don't like it! I don't want to spend more money but I wanted it blond! I even took a picture...she mentioned my "brassy undertones" when she was washing my hair out, but I guess she wasn't "displeased" with it enough to make it look better. What would you do?

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

If she has a manager, I would talk to them. Haircolour is an art form %26amp; a little bit of chemistry to concoct the perfect shades using the colours available.

Be honest w/ her %26amp; tell her that you really aren't happy. If she cares about her work (%26amp; her reputation- because I would tell everyone who messed my hair), she will make you happy either by using a toner to take care of the brassiness, refunding your money, or getting someone in the same salon to help her get her formula right. Colour is tricky %26amp; you never exactly know how someone's hair is going to process. If it doesn't turn out right, you keep working on it over a few weeks (so the hair can take a break from all the damage) to get it right.

Most people just go somewhere else %26amp; have another stylist colour correct the mistakes thus having to pay more. This is silly because you paid for a service that you aren't happy w/.

A great stylist will want to make their guests happy because if their clients are happy, they will return for more services.

Talk to her %26amp; have in mind what you want, ie, a refund, (which after 3 tries, I would want) or speak to her manager about a refund. It may also be about her time- if she mentioned the brassiness %26amp; you didn't speak up, she may have just hoped you would let it pass w/ out a comment. Speak up for what you want even after a service. Where I work, if a guest comes in w/ a photo %26amp; shows the stylist what they want, if the stylist doesn't manage to do this, they keep working at it until it is accomplished. Most good stylists will keep working.

I hope you aren't paying each time you are going to her are you? Once is enough to try to get the colour you want. Don't wait too long to contact her because there is usually only a 7 day period on disliking colours. After too long, they think you are just wanting a different colour for free.

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

its normal for a hairstyles to not the the right color. and if you really dont like it then go to a different hair place and let they try to get it right.

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

Well maybe she's working you for the money. I would go to a different salon the next time. Three tries is a bit much for just getting highlights.

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

I totally have been there. It happens all the time. I started to research the physics of hair coloring and do my own now (I haven't screwed it up yet!!!) I can't believe she sent you home with it orange when you said you wanted blonde.......Call her tomorrow and tell her she needs to fix it. If she saw the picture and didn't think she could achieve the color, she shouldn't have done it in the first place. You poor thing!

Good luck!!!!

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

one time this lady died my hair, and it was this really ugly mousy brown color. i didn't say anything to her but then the next day i told myself i wasn't going to just live with that color, so i went back in and had her re-die it. the second time she made it dark brown with mocha and some red and it looked really pretty. she did it for free the second time which was really nice of her

i guess if i were you i would find someone different who knows exactly what color you want

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

Sadly its not right for a hairstyleist to do that it shoulf be right the first time seeing as the colour is permiment so if i was u change ur styler

Is it normal that a hair stylist can't get the right color the first time?

she needs to ask u about Ur self if Ur drinking medicines, mood, analyze Ur hair, make sure she gets the right base, and use color lifters to get to color u want if is light, color hair is not easy and it also need to be explained about the bases because for example get in a swimming pool Ur hair can change color to ur base because of the chemicals and if they know what their doing yes they could get it right the first time

Miscarriage from dying hair?

I'm 6 weeks and 6 days today. My sister talked me into going and getting our hair highlighted together on Saturday (2 days ago), she's pregnant too. Yesterday I was in the ER for bleeding, and I'm going to my doctor today to see if I'm really miscarrying. Now I'm convinced it was from the hair dye and I'm so scared! I just had my 1st miscarriage on August 7th, and now this one? I mean what are the chances it's just a coincidence? I feel like I hurt my baby and I feel awful.

Miscarriage from dying hair?

no relax it is not from getting your hair dyed. i had a miscarried my first pregnancy and my second pregnancy and now I'm 14 weeks pregnant i had bleeding as well my doctor told me its implantation bleeding its from the egg embedding itself in the wall of the uterus. if you went to the er they would have not sent you to another doctor if you were having a miscarriage. they would take care of you then and there.. if you are going through a miscarriage and ill pray that you aren't it could be so many reasons and factors. most are unknown not because you dyed your hair once. good luck and your in my prays

Miscarriage from dying hair?

IM A MUM OF 4, i dyed my hair at different stages throughout all my pregnancies ITS SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my gyno says its safe, dont blame yourself at all,,, and goodluck, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Miscarriage from dying hair?

nope. impossible.

don't even fret it, you didn't do it by dying your hair.

Miscarriage from dying hair?

Only if the first was right after dying your hair would I think it was related other wise I do not think so.I am sorry for your loss, but stay calm and see your doctor and get checked out .Find out why you keep miscarrying.Good luck.

Miscarriage from dying hair?

I doubt it's from dying your hair unless you were not in a well ventalated area where you were inhaling all sorts of fumes. Then it might have been because of that, but other than that, I don't think it's from the hair dye. I dyed my hair purple when I was 7 wks preg and nothing bad happened to me.

Miscarriage from dying hair?

no, hair dye is harmless to your child unless you yourself are allergic to it. sorry to say, but there may be something wrong with your body. :(

Miscarriage from dying hair?

I am so sorry , but no that is not possible i have had 5 kids and i have also dyed my hair 16 years. i asked the doc when i was prego with twins and she said it was fine . it happens again i am so sorry,

Miscarriage from dying hair?

i dyed my hair when i was preggo and i didnt have a miscarry maybe something else could be causing you to have problems. i sent my condolences if you are miscarrying and good luck

Miscarriage from dying hair?

Don't blame yourself, hair dying in pregnancy is safe, and the dye generally doesn't sink into the skin, let alone affect the baby via the bloodstream. It is not your fault.

Miscarriage from dying hair?

drying your hair would not cause a misscarage

Miscarriage from dying hair?

i dont think this is related at all if you have already miscarryed there must be another reason i had several early misscarages over a year i got refered to a specailist and both me and my partner were tested but they found nothing wrong they instucted me to take half an asprin everyday i then read that caffine can cause miscarrage so i cut all caffine out and took the asprin and got pregnant straight away .i had bleeding for 2 weeks at 6 weeks pregnant and was told i was misscarrying again i had a scan then another 2 weeks later when the bleeding had stoped and all was fine im now pregnant with my 2nd child there were some problems with my first child at birth she had a condition

called tofs and had to have an opperation

she is fine now thou and the two are not related

good luck and never give up hope it

sam x

contact me on samfergy@sky.com

Miscarriage from dying hair?

nothing to do with hair dye at all...if the bleeding has stopped, then you might still be ok...spotting can happen and although it is a warning sign - it does not necessarily mean a miscarriage is happening...blood vessels can burst near the cervix which can cause that...have an internal scan done and put your mind at ease..2 miscarriages in a row is not uncommon - according to our doc - 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage...so don't fret...talk to your doc..and good luck

Miscarriage from dying hair?

OMG please don't blame yourself! I have 2 children and I Bleached my hair with BOTH of them and my babies are alive and well (almost 4 and 2)!

My cousin and my Uncle are hairdressers and both say its ok as well as the hospital staff!

Good luck with everything and I hope it all works out for you

xx

Miscarriage from dying hair?

No hon you didnt do it!! I dyed my hair thru all three of my pregnancies and had no trouble. Its just the timing of this event makes it seem like that.

Hair dye in pregnancy?

Im 11 weeks pregnant and normally get my hair highlighted every 10 weeks or so. Have heard conflicting reports of whether to have hair dyed during pregnancy. Any advice?

Hair dye in pregnancy?

My mother teaches cosmetology (for over 25 years) and she told me that she has always been told that you should not have your hair colored by pregnant. Chemicals from the hair dye COULD harm your baby. If not certain, I would not do it because the health of your baby is most important. You can always get it colored again after the baby is born.

Hair dye in pregnancy?

there really is not any medical proof on what it can do to the fetus but it could make your hair turn a color you don't agree with beacuse of the change in hormones your body has changed. good luck

Hair dye in pregnancy?

i would be courious to know this also.. im 5 weeks (almost 6) and i am due for a touch up.. i have also always heard that its not okay to do so but i would think it depends on the chemicals they use... good luck

Hair dye in pregnancy?

they make hair dye thats ammonia free and is okay to use when pregnant.

Hair dye in pregnancy?

I heard that your not suppose to get your hair dyed, not sure why, but talk to your doctor about it

Hair dye in pregnancy?

I am now 29 weeks pregnant and I have been having my hair highlighted every 5 weeks (with bleach).I am fine and so is my baby. But one thing I do is have it done at a hairdressers.Good luck to you both xx

Hair dye in pregnancy?

It will not hurt the baby. The only problem is the dye may not take or it may turn out a different color because of the hormones in your body due to the pregnancy.

Hair dye in pregnancy?

What means more to you....the way your hair looks or your baby's health for the remainder of your pregnancy? Of course there are conflicting reports, but...obviously hair dyes have chemicals that are put directly onto your skin, so you decide which is the right answer. Try and stick this out until your baby is born....remember, now begins the sacrifices we make as mothers!

Hair dye in pregnancy?

all through my pregnancy ive dyed mine but not highlighted or bleeched it allthough all my freinds did

Hair dye in pregnancy?

Nothing has proven that getting your hair dye during pregnancy will harm you or the baby. A lot of pregnant women get their hair and nails done. Their baby turned out fine. Just make sure you're not inhaling too much of the chemical stuff. Have windows and doors open! I've dyed my hair when I was 8 weeks pregnant and that was the most crucial time of pregnancy!

Hair dye in pregnancy?

You can dye your hair or highlight it. You just can't do a double process (dye AND highlight it) If you are going to do it; you have to either highlight it, or dye it but not both because that would be too many fumes for you to breath in. I'm a mother of 2 and i dyed my hair when i was pregnant with both, and they came out perfectly fine. My daughter is now 2 and my son is 3. I wish the best of luck to you, and hope you have a beautiful healthy baby!!

Hair dye in pregnancy?

im 12 wks and have bad roots but not getting it done

Hair dye in pregnancy?

it's down to the hair dresser really some refuse and others will do it, i'm 23 weeks preggers and my hair dresser has no quarms wi doing my hair at all, she just doesn't take the dye right to the root she leaves half a inch or so, so that the dye doesn't have no contact with your scalp,

Hair dye in pregnancy?

I also asked about this babe. Both the doctor and hairdresser said it was fine to get easy mesh but not the cap. Apparently the easy mesh doesn't go straight to your scalp therefore you're not getting the chemicals. Hope this helps x

I just highlighted my hair and i really really hate it.....?

Ouch, sorry you arent happy with your hair.

I'd go consult a hairdresser, if you try to colour over the top of peroxide it might go green or worse, you need some sound advice and unless you know exactly what products were used you could end up in real trouble!

go see a person who knows what they are talking about, trust me things can go bad, I have red hair and tried one of those wash in wash out colours, my hair went bright orange! Arghhhhhhhh.............

Good Luck!

How to keep hair from turning brassy???

I have my hair highlight and low lighted. The dark is really dark and the light is really light. I love it, but it's been a few weeks since it was colored and I'm noticing the blond is turning slightly brassy.

How do i keep it from doing this??

I've used sheer blonde shampoo before which helped, but I'm hesitant to use it now since the majority of my hair is DARK, which I don't want to fade. Will this affect the overall color at all?

Do the violet shampoos work??

Please help!

How to keep hair from turning brassy???

I've not done highlights, but have found that if I stick with colors that are ash based have less tendency to be brassy.

How to keep hair from turning brassy???

the violet shampoos are AWESOME my best friend is a hair dresser she gets it for me all the time there is also a shampoo for dark hair called "onyx"

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

i have rather curly hair and i have highlights in it,it seems to be working fine.

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

I heard that if you have curly hair, that means that your brain is twisted, thats why your hair grows twisted

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

I have curly hair and I have had it high lighted. Just get a good conditioner and you should be fine.

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

i have curly hair- and im always colouring it - i have never had a problem with it being dry..just make sure you get it done professionally 1st time around

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

The bleach will dry your hair some....Just remember to use a good conditioner regularly.

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

Highlighting is actually better than dying ur hair..so yea.. highlight is good....

Curling ur hair makes ur hair dry? really? omg! Im actually thinking about doing that! *shucks*

Okay 1 more curly hair question....... have any of you ever highlighted your hair?

i have curly hair and i highlight it. but my secret is called "hair fixer" which is sold at sally's. It consists of 6 blue pills that you mix with a solution and apply to your hair. I swear if you folllow the box's instructions it works as a miracle

My hair turned orange help!?

I got my hair highlighted and it turned orange my natural hair color is like medium brown if i dyed my hair medium-dark brown would it take the yellowish orange away? or i should i use l'oreal haircolor remover? would that take away the color which product would be better?

My hair turned orange help!?

Use a loreal natural match warm medium brown color. It will have golden tones. Don't buy an ash color. You hair will turn green!

My hair turned orange help!?

I would die it your natural color which would tone down the orange but still leave highlights.

My hair turned orange help!?

you should have bleached your hair first!

My hair turned orange help!?

Go to a professional!!

My hair turned orange help!?

lol.... leave it the way it is, it will come out on its own.

My hair turned orange help!?

DYE YOUR HAIR MEDIUM DARK BROWN

My hair turned orange help!?

The L'Oreal Hair Color Remover isn't just going to take away the wrong color, it's a form of bleach that will strip all color from the hair - including your natural color. I found this out the hard way. It'd be better to just dye it back the medium brown color, because when you "layer" it on top of the highlights, it'll still be a bit brighter than your non-highlighted hair.

My hair turned orange help!?

the sun might have turned it oange but also if u hav brown hair and u tried to dye in blonde, that might be the reason.

My hair turned orange help!?

Call the company that made the highlight coloring. They usually have info that will help you better and faster than most of us can. I had the same issue if it helps and I wish I had called them - I'm still having to dye my hair to cover the orange - that was 2 years ago. It's almost all grown out now.

My hair turned orange help!?

Dying it dark brown should take away the orange color.

My hair turned orange help!?

Well it all depends. I once got my hair colored at a salon and i wanted it to be a reddish brown color well what they did was basically died my hair orange and said after about 7 washes it would be the color i had asked for. and it would stay that way. and it worked (thank god) but if you did it your self then i would probably suggest using the haircolor remover.

P.S. if you have dark brown hair than why is your avatar a blonde?

My hair turned orange help!?

if your hair has been dyed before it happens like that as a reaction to the dye and should fade within 2-3 weeks if it hasnt been dyed wait a few days if it doesnt fade go to a nearby salon

My hair turned orange help!?

The same thing happened to Greg Brady in an episode of the Brady Bunch.

My hair turned orange help!?

ooh sorry, i recommend you dye it or see a hair stylist pro.

My hair turned orange help!?

I would go with a Dark Brown. It will get rid of the orange tint and after a couple of washes it will lighten up to your natural color. Make sure to use a semi-permanent (its better on the hair, since you just bleached it). What must have happended is that you didn't leave the bleach on long enough. Next time head to the salon to get those good ole' highlights.

My hair turned orange help!?

I would call a salon supply store an ask them...not a salon they just say come in an we'll see what we can do...I trust the girls/guys at the supply store...talk to them.

My hair turned orange help!?

I think you look great with that orange hair!

And since orange is our national colour, I suggest you'd come to the Netherlands for a holiday, especially on april 30, when our queen has her birthday and all our country is decorated with orange ribbons.......your hair will match perfectly and everybody will love it!!! :-))

My hair turned orange help!?

Dont do the colour remover. Go to Sallys and ask for a toner and apply it ONLY to the orange. I had the same prob.

My hair turned orange help!?

go see a professional. if you keep trying to fix it and make it worse your hair will get super damaged and break.

My hair turned orange help!?

You can't use a hair color remover if you went lighter. Your hair turned orange because the highliter had the wrong undertones.Go to Sally's Beautiful Supply they have dies with blue, purple, amber and all kinds of other undertones.Trust me same thing happened to me and Sally's helped big time, they are licensed beauticians.

How do I naturally highlight my hair?

I already have kind of light brown hair and it has some natural highlights but i need a way to bring them out naturally. Suggestions?

Much Thanks.

How do I naturally highlight my hair?

hey ddnt you say NATURALLY? lol ok it really matters how dark your hair is. mine is a reaaaly light brown/dark blonde and i use lemon juice and it works wonderfally.

I spray it all over my hair after i get out of the shower and go to sleep with it in. then when i get up i spray again.

supposedly it gets lighter in the sun but im not out enough to do that so jsut leaving it in my hair works fine. it has light strawberry blonde highlights now

some ppl with dark brown hair say it turns it orange which i could see happening so they use cammomile tea. look it up on the internet on how to apply it bc ive heard that it works great too.

hope you get those natural highlights!

How do I naturally highlight my hair?

just so you know one thing to not use is sun-in b/c it will turn your hair a brassy orange. you could get john frieda highlight activating shampoo for brunettes. it works really well.

How do I naturally highlight my hair?

You want to streak lemon juice in your hair where your highlights are then go out in the sun when your just hanging out I did it and It worked great it gave me a ligher brown dirty blonde hair color!

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

ive never died my hair i never use artifical **** to enhance my look dont belive in it, natural look overcomes all for me. so anyway my m8s are calling me a gay(not in a bullying way in a jokey way) anyway ive got fair hair but in my hair i got loads of blonde highlights natural.

how can i proove to them that i dont highlight my hair?

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

Dye your hair black (or any dark color) - as it grows out they will see the highlights forming from up from the root...

Better yet - tell them to bugger off or get 2 of them so drunk they pass out, then pose them in compromising positions. Next time they start needling you just whip out the pictures. That ought to give them something to talk about!

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

Just tell them that they're natural highlights. If they don't believe you, than just ignore them. =)

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

Every day point out that your roots are the same colour as the rest of your hair, because it's natural. If it was fake, your roots would show a different colour. And nobody colours their hair everyday!

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

i agree with emily. if they dont believe you, let it go.

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

Why do you need to prove something about your hair? Hey I believe you.

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

i am a brunette i have never dyed or highlighted my hair either but under certain sunlight or even household light the redhighlights in my hair comeout so much you think i had it done at the salon but i never had it dyed people may think i am lying but who cares as long as i know it is true my late grandmother who i never had the privellage of meeting was a redhead

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

Roots baby, color leaves roots. If your hair is naturaly blond the sun will lighten it especially if you in it a lot or if your from a place where it is hot most of the time. In the Winter time you may even seem to get darker. That is natural because your not in the sun as much and it isn't as intence. I'm a hair dresser and If you would like to tell them this maybe it would help. If they won't listen to you then, don't let it bother you and they'll stop. People only tease you if you let them.

How can i tell my m8s that i dont highlight my hair -.-?

tell them it's natural and if they don't believe you say ef you!!!!!

If i get my curly hair layered when i straighten it will it be even on the bottom?

im thinking of getting layers, i have my hair highlighted blonde in my light brown hair( just on the top of the hair), so will this be too obvious is if get layers

and if i straighten it will the bottom of my hair be the same length?

does anyone have any websites and pics of layered hair and sites on good hairstyles?

If i get my curly hair layered when i straighten it will it be even on the bottom?

Tell your stylist that you would like your layers to look good when your hair is both curly and straight. It shouldn't be a problem for them to cut it so it looks good both ways. Long layers can add shape to curly hair and can look great when straight (especially if there is a little layer framing the face). Just tell them how you style your hair both curly and straight and then they will know what you're talking about.

Also, have them straighten it after they cut it and have them check the cut straight. That way if there's anything you don't like, they can fix it before you leave. If your stylists doesn't at least check the cut while your hair is dry, you need to spend a little more on a better stylist!

If i get my curly hair layered when i straighten it will it be even on the bottom?

It will sorta be even on the bottom it deppends on how much you layer it . I have layerd hair and I love it though and I straighten it all the time and you still can. My hair is wavy and it works for me. good luck !!

If i get my curly hair layered when i straighten it will it be even on the bottom?

I have curly hair 2 and was worried about the same thing... and i went 4 it and now i LOVE my hair and my'n is even all the way and know i always straiten my hair and I'm getting complements all the time.. talk 2 u soon

If i get my curly hair layered when i straighten it will it be even on the bottom?

it should be

RED tint for my hair?

I have really dark brown hair and i've only highlighted it once

so it's pretty undamaged.

So, I have always wanted to do something more drastic but i get too scared.

And i love the red tint but I'm not sure how it would look.

I have light skin, big brown eyes.

That one time that I got my hair highlighted (now they've all grown out) the hairstylist said i shouldn't do a red tint for some reason..i can't recall.

I would also be willing to go to a salon like gene juarez to be sure it's done right.

So, my ultimate question is, do you think this color would work for me and are there any cons to the red tint look?

THANKS!

Here's some examples of what i like...

RED tint for my hair?

for light skin and big brown eyes, i think red would look awesome.

dont be afraid! i have dyed my hair every color invented!!

the good thing about hair, is you can cut it, shave, dye it, and spike it... but it ALWAYS grows back...

be unique, go for it! :D

RED tint for my hair?

If you're looking to do something different i DONT recommend playing with reds. Red tints DO NOT wash/fade out, so if you happened to not like it you would have to wait for the red to grow out. Yes you can dye over it however there will still be a tint of red.

Medium layered hair?

Can you highlight your hair after you've colored it?

I have med brown hair and colored it with loreal creme coloring using an ash blond color to get rid of greys and to lighten it. The result is a lighter brown color, I like it ok, but also want blond highlights, how long should I wait to do it and is it ok to do. I would probably have that done professionally.

Can you highlight your hair after you've colored it?

Hi I am a cosmetologist and yes you can highlight your hair after coloring it, I do it for clients every day.

Can you highlight your hair after you've colored it?

sure you can

the hair products that are used now are much less damaging than those of the past

keep your hair well conditioned before your highlight appointment

Can you highlight your hair after you've colored it?

i've dyed my whole head and then highlighted it within two hours... so yes it is possible.

Hair highlight that will bring out my complexion?!Help please!?

Well i have a darkish whitish skin, what highlight would just bring out my complexion.

Hair highlight that will bring out my complexion?!Help please!?

I am assuming by fair you mean light. You should definetly go for ash blonde. That looks amazing for so many skin tones. From light to tan.

How do i tone down my bright highlights?

I had my hair highlighted blonde today and it's a bit bright!! How can i tone it down a bit? I don't want to use another colour or go back to the salon.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back

My friend said she had done it before. My hair was medium brown before we started. We bought the Frost and Tip at the store. I just wanted highlights, but too much was pulled through the cap, making it look like I just added a few pieces of brown to my blond, instead of the other way around. It came out in a few different shades of blond. I just want to go back to the color I was before, brown. Will it damage it if I re-dye it?

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

dye it back

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

My sister, who is a sylist, says to wash your hair with powdered Tide laundry detergent to soften the color and then wait at least four weeks to do anything else to your hair or you run the risk of frying it.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

I've done the same thing and I re-dyed my the same day 4 different times. Don't recommend it. Wait at least a couple days to a week. Then afterward do cholesterol treatment every other day to at least twice a week. good luck.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

please follow my steps.i passes through this all and now am tired of that.i want a very clear, beautifull and shiny hair.and i got it.

since you said your hair is brown which is the best color this season what i suggest is to go to the hairdresser and tell him i want the choclate hair color. you will look much much better than in blondy.

i don't knkow you but i found that brow is the best way to look elegant.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

You could put Lowlights in it so it will be darker and so you wouldn't be able to see the highlights that u dont like.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

wait at least 2 weeks, but go to a professional to fix it for you. Don't do it yourself unless you want to fry your hair.

I highlighted my hair yesterday, and it came out more of a yllw/gold. How soon can I darken it back to brown?

cut the highlights out

Blonde highlights?

im getting my hair highlighted, right now its dark blonde. what shade of blonde will go best with it?

Blonde highlights?

I think a few shades lighter than your natural haircolor will look great in your hair(:

Blonde highlights?

I would just go with highlights that are slightly lighter than your natural color. That way it wont look too fake, but still give it a touch-up.

Blonde highlights?

I would suggest you get that little color sample, the one with little strands of hair and put it against your hair. That way you can get a better view of what results to expect.

Blonde highlights?

lightest ash blonde should work really well.. good luck! t.

Blonde highlights?

Probably a light blonde that would look nice i guess

Blonde highlights?

With Dirty Blonde hair, I'd suggest getting light blonde highlights.

Or, if you're looking for something different, a combination of light blonde highlights and brown would create a nice look.

Blonde highlights?

just a shade or 2 lighter white blonde usually doesnt look good and can turn a greenish tint

Blonde highlights?

well first you should find out if you are "warm" or "cool"

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

This is aimed mostly at girls/women i have my hair highlighted, washed, cut, blow dryed and styled and it costs 52.00. I was wondering if that is over priced really or whether that is what you pay

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

52 Dollars, Euros or UK Pounds? Either way it sounds pretty cheap. I would expect UK salons to charge circa 鎷?5-鎷?00 for long hair. More in premier salons - so I think you have a bargain - that's if you're happy with the result!?

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

I pay nothing - I'm a natural light blond

(HA HAAAAAAAA)

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

that sounds about average, actually fairly cheap b/c you get it cut and stuff as well. it usually costs $50 to just get highlighted.

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

Two weeks ago, I paid 鎷?15 for three colour highlights and a very slight trim at the Rainbow Room.

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

DEPENDS ON THE STYLIST. WHERE I GO I GET LOW LIGHTS AND DYED AND THEY CHARGE ME 100.00 WITH THE CUT AND DRY

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

that sounds like a good price i pay $75 - $100 after tip and everything

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

NO WAY! You got an awesome price. The prices of highlights usually goes by the length of your hair. My hair is above my shoulders and I paid 40 bucks for all the same services done. Highlights could go in a price range from anywhere from 40 bucks to 200 bucks!!!

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

wash trim highlight and blowdry = 鎷?5

best hairdresser! no one does my hair nicer

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

That's a good price. I get mine coloured, foil hi-lights, cut, blow-dry and styled and i pay over 鎷?20. But my hair is quite long which is why it costs so much.

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

That's pretty cheap for highlights. But I don't get them- my hair is all natural!

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

well just before xmas i went to my mates hairdressers,i had brown underneath and highlights on the top cost me 鎷?2 it looked really nice but as the days have gone on it looks darker than before i had it done so im going back for him to touch it up,my sister inlaw pays 鎷?0 for hers

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

that's just about right at some places you can pay as much as 90quid for high lights it just depends on where you go...

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

Mine cost me 鎷?2 pound aswell!! That was for colour, highlights, cut and blow dry and straighten.

How much do you pay for highlights at the hairdressers?

well, i am a natural blonde, so i don't get my hair coloured or highlighted, but my friend gets her hair coloured dark. she pays 64 dollars for all of that to get done. so i think that that is a perfect price.

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

Im getting my hair highlighted at a salon and she is going to charde me $75 how much do I tip?

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

Since Im a Hairdresser people usually tip, 10.00 on the average..If you really like it 20.00. Its alot of work to foil..People do not realize the amount of effort and time to highlight...Your getting a good price at 75.00

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

$10

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

I tip 10. But yours is cheaper so maybe 7 or 8.

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

I don't know how much you should tip. But to my suggestion, I think you should tip on how much you like the highlights.

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

like 40 percent

I dont know how much that would b

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

Probally about $10 would be the best, specially if she does a great job! =)

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

It depends on how long your hair is. If she does an awesome job and you have medium to long hair, 15.00. If you have shorter hair, maybe 10.00. If you are not happy with her work, don't tip until she corrects it - and she shouldn't charge you to do that. Then tip adequately when she is done.

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

$15-20

Tipping a hairdresser who is doing highlights.?

I usually do about $7-$10.00 or so.

Thinking of dyeing my hair an unnatural colour, how will this limit my summer job options?

I dyed my hair bright pink last summer, but I worked for my parents who had no problem with it. I'm going to start looking for a job in February or March for the summer and am thinking of dyeing my hair teal or purple, or streaking it with teal or purple. I am a university student, and there is a good chance that I could be working at a government desk job or doing outdoor work. Will the hair colour limit me to art, music, independant video, and clothing stores? Would it be acceptable to have my hair highlighted an unnatural colour and opposed to completely dyed?

Thinking of dyeing my hair an unnatural colour, how will this limit my summer job options?

yeah, most jobs will be judgmental already the minute you step through the door. They will cite "company policy"right away. There will be some who would hire you though, but if you are dealing with the public, if all qualifications are the same, a manager will hire somebody else over you. If you are determined to have it done, limit your job finding to trendy stores where young adults shop.

Thinking of dyeing my hair an unnatural colour, how will this limit my summer job options?

Alot of employers these days have very strict codes for appearance. They want to project a certain image to the public and alot of the time they think that odd hair color is the wrong image. (Weird, I know.) It varies, employer to employer, so I'd stick with streaks and maybe temporary/wash-out dye until you get a job. Find out what they expect of you or ask your boss outright what they would think. It can never hurt to ask.

Thinking of dyeing my hair an unnatural colour, how will this limit my summer job options?

It is a sign of poor judgement to most employers.

Thinking of dyeing my hair an unnatural colour, how will this limit my summer job options?

It will limit your job options because the reality is that appearance counts and you may not present the way the business wants itself to be seen.

Hair help requested! I'm already tired of my new look...?

I am an African American with naturally jet black hair and I recently had my hair highlighted. The first time was like 5 weeks ago, but the color hardly showed and I was disappointed.

I went back to get it redone like 3 weeks ago, but this time there was too much color! I'm tired of this color and I'm not feeling the comments I'm getting about it.

I would like to go back to black, but I am NOT prepared to pay another $80 to get it colored again. Should I just get a color kit from the store since black seems to be a color you cant really mess up? Or is this why I see some girls with hair that looks green?

If I SHOULD use store bought black hair dye, which is best?

Thanks :)

Hair help requested! I'm already tired of my new look...?

I always recommend garnier hair color. I've never had any problems with it. Don't go for true black. It tends to look fake even if you do have naturally black hair. Go for the next color up. Also make sure it doesn't say "ash" or "cool". Try "rich"

Hair help requested! I'm already tired of my new look...?

nice and easy... its really goood :D

Hair colouring. help!?

i had my hair highlighted about 4 1/2 months ago with blode highilights. i have naturally brown hair and have bad roots so want to go bak to my natural colour. will it be safe or will i go ginger or something?help please!!!!!

Hair colouring. help!?

no it's easy to do but get an hairdresser to do it you need the right dye putting on to cover the blonde correctly....

Hair colouring. help!?

Get it done professionally.

The natural colour might still fade from the highlights a little, but you just get it done again and it should stick.

Hair colouring. help!?

it will be fine to do a tint back DO I T!!!!! but have a stylist do it and they make pigments that stick to your hair before they put color on it so it wont fade

Hair colouring. help!?

if you get a hairdresser to help you it wont go wrong...highlights is always tricky to do or undo by yourself

Hair colouring. help!?

I often change my own hair colour, when I want blonde I get hairdresser to do it but when I want back to brown I do it myself. Just get a brown dye and follow instructions. your hair will still have the highlighted look only willbe brown now. If your hair is long get 2 packs of dye.

Hair colouring. help!?

if your determined to do it yourself...... you need to colour your hair with a copper toned moose first. this will replace the natural red pigment that was stripped out when your hair was lightened. then apply a colour that matches your natural colour if your not confident just use a semi permanent colour!

good luck

Hair colouring. help!?

its totally safe. you need to dye the blonde bit of your hair red. it may sound weird but this is what hairdressers use and then you can dye your hair brown. dying the hair red first stops the hair from going green and yuck if you dye it straight to brown.
