When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

I get my hair highlighted blonde about every 3 months. I go to a professional, and I'm usually very happy with the results. However, this time, I have a bad spot of fried hair on the top of my head where I part my hair. My hair is very, very straight and fine, so it feels horrible (crunchy!). Is there any way to get rid of this? Please help!

Once hair is damaged,it's damaged, but you can do things to make it look and feel better and prevent breakage. You should go back to the salon and complain and tell your stylist that you want free reconstructor treatments. That will help with the dryness and hopefully prevent breakage. Your stylist should NEVER overlap when she is doing the high lights, just the new growth should be done.

I haven't had reconstructor treatments, but I have heard allot about them. Apparently they help allot. It could mean the difference between short broken off hair and still having all your length. The treatments are protein and moisture. Report It

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

The only way it will completely repair is to cut it .. But I would go back to the stylist and demand your money back. I suggest using hot oil treatments and perhaps a leave in conditioner..((vo5)) or thermasilk

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

It sounds like a chemical haircut, the volume used with the bleach was most likely very high therefore it burned some of the roots of your hair.

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

I have had the same thing happen.. I used a conditioner. I have also used body lotion...in small amounts. I know it can also be very uncomfortable. The best thing tho is to tell your beautician, maybe they just got too busy to get to you sooner.

Good luck

It sounds like she either left the color on too long or she shouldn't have put color in because you hair may have been damaged already. Go back to her so that she can give you a series of professional conditioning treatments

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

Go back and show them and They SHOULD d a free conditioning treatment since it is thier fault.......if not demand a refund and make it clear u will not be back if they dont make it right

When I got my hair colored, I came home with a fried spot near my roots! HELP!?

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

my hair is red, but i want to have the experience of non permanently dying it black, it comes out in 8-10 shampoo washes, so what would your suggestion be for brands, colors i should die my hair/highlight/streak, my hair?

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

I'd kill for another hair colour. Mine's dark chocolate brown giving the apperance of black. I think for the best possible outcome and answer you better go to a salon or to a stylist and ask this. Before someone gives you some very, very bad advice.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

because its such a drastic change, u should probably get it done professionally.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

Don't try it yourself if you're a first-timer! Go to a good salon and get it non-permanently dyed there. Don't risk it at home. Even if it is non permanent, you could have a non-permanent mutilated hair color!!!

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

STOP! Do not semi permanently dye your hair black when you have any coloring or highlighting or lightening stuff already in your hair. What happens is your hair becomes porous from the previous treatments and the black coloring permanent or not will get sucked up into the hair like a sponge. The effect can vary... hair with red and previously lightened in any way can turn GREEN when mixed with black. It wont wash out! This is an issue that we woman do not comprehend when wanting a change. Red is in all colors and what is taken out when dark hair is made blonde. Red will cause your new black hair to go green in maybe certain places especially your ends. If your hair is virgin hair and red you may have a shot at it but it will probably come out with red highlights. If you want to highlight your hair use thin strands and go bronze or copper colored. I suggest a hairstylist until you establish the color of the streaks you want to suit you.

Please heed my warning on the black semi-washout-stuff. You will be going back to school or work as a parrot.

Should i non permanently color my hair black?

Dnt do it as black takes all da natural pigment out of ur hair!!

Does anyone know how to "highlight" white hair to return some color with a natural look?

I've been coloring my hair since I prematurely grayed in my 20's. I let it grow out last year for my 50th birthday. I'm about 90% white. I look much older than my age and washed out. I was recently offered my senior citizen discount! I live in fear of someone thinking I'm my husband's MOTHER!

I want to add some color back with shades of blonde and light brown highlights. My beautician has never done it or seen it done. I'd rather experiment myself than pay that kind of money. I welcome uggestions on how. I'm not asking if I should.

How about a reverse frost? Instead of having to take the color out....all you would have to do is pull your hair through the cap...then just put the color you want on it! You would need to look for some hair color or toner that would really soak into your hair. I have very stubborn gray around my face. I bought some hair color, and I'm going to do it myself this weekend.

Hope this helps...and good luck!

Edited to add....there are also hair coloring kits that you 'paint' the color on with a brush. I used that on my sister one time, and she loved it!

Thank you for the points..and the tip about the Magic gray...I may try that as well! We have a Sally's close by.

Good luck! Report It

go to the hair salon

That is an awesome idea. Don't stick with a color you don't like.

First, I would not reccommend doing it yourself. It seems like what you are looking for is more subtle and natural results and those can best be achieved through a colorist. If you get the right color, you won't have to go back too often for touch ups. So, find a colorist (someone experienced in hair coloring).

I would say that you should go with a pale blond, since your hair is white and that way the roots won't be obvious if they grow out a little. Go with a "single process" color, which is technically a temporary color but lasts a long time and gives your hair a lot of shine too.

Have her choose a pale ash blonde (if you have a cool skin tone) or a pale golden blonde if you have a warm skin tone. Once this single process color is in, your colorist can add some lighter highlights to make it look more natural and to make root growout even less noticeable.

It will look awesome!

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

I saw this thing on TV that you can use to highlight your hair. I want to wear highlights in my hair at special occasions. I am graduating from 6th grade (elementary). I want to wear them there. Plz help!

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

ADDITIONAL REPLY: YOU ARE PROBIBLY BEST OFF getting some type of :paint on" color effects you can find a wide selection at a beauty supply. Also places like Wal-mart might have some too.

First let me explain: highlights refers to the use of chemicals (color and/or Bleach) to permantly lighten your haircolor. However today there are many other types of "streaking effects" used some are called "lowlights" or a "reverse color weave".

Then there are some fun shampoo out products people can "paint" on their hair which come in colors like pink, red, black and so on. So it depends on what exactly you were thinking of (color) and what color your hair is now. as well as if you have any other chemicals on your hair (sun-in, perms, colors,) even if it was used a year ago its important to know. If you have a reg. stylist you should ask them if they can just help in suggesting something for you. Yes its complicated but you are talking about chemicals so be careful

What is the best thing to use to highlight your hair?

it's probably good to get a low peroxide like 20% or 10% mixed with the bleach, and check on it every 5-10min. i say this because the bleaching kit at some beauty supply stores sometimes can be very strong, there is also this product called Sun-In... i think they still sell at the Drug stores. if that doesn't work the next best thing is to go to a professional Hairstylist.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

i have very very dark hair its the darkest shade of black

and i was wondering what color of highlights should i get

and what color would look the best..

my hair is long.like around my back.

and should i also get layers???

What color should i highlight my hair?????

I am a professional so if you want it to look natural you never go over 3 shades lighter or darker. If your hair is very black like solid black you have a blue base, then I would go with a Violet colour it would look so beautiful. If you have what we call white mans black which is more like a brown black you will have a red base. In that case you can go with reds, browns whatever. If you want punk well all colours will work. Layers will depend on your facial shape. If your hair is very thick layers may not work because layers will give you volume. But you could still have them if you have your hair thinned out after. If I saw a pic of you I could give you better advice, and if I knew what you are looking for. But I hope this helps. The one way to know if you have true black would be if you are like Indian or something like that. Their hair is a true blue black.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

light reddish brown and i would get layers i think they are cute

What color should i highlight my hair?????

i think a deep brown with a hint of red looks great on dark hair, a nice auburn color with layers will look the best i think.

What color should i highlight my hair?????

hi i think pink and you should get layers it will look awsome!!

What color should i highlight my hair?????

maybe a caramel brown would look quite cute, get highlights under your layers though so you see flashes of colour, that way you don't get horrid re-growth, and the colour looks a lot quirkier that way!

What color should i highlight my hair?????

blond

What color should i highlight my hair?????

Blue or purple highlights look great on black hair. ;-)

What color should i highlight my hair?????

I think u should get a darker almost brown red, that's not 2 bright, but noticeable. Layers too. Layers take a lot of weight off ur hair if u have thick or long hair. It will look awesome when it's done. :)

What color should i highlight my hair?????

ok well you should get dark brown high lights but not to dark but anof to see them. and yes you should get them layered they would look HELLA pretty i have indian hair and there layer and yeah i freakin love my hair it looks so pretty and are you indian? im indian you go gurl if your indian.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

So I get my hair highlighted (blonde) and for some reason the top layer of my hair feels HORRIBLE-like crunchy. WHat can I do to fix this problem?! I would really appreaciate any help. Thank you!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Wella Kolestral. I used it when I had a real tight perm on top of dyed hair. It worked wonders. I wrapped my head and used a bonnet hair dryer.

http://www.wellausa.com/consumer/product...

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

just get some really good shampoo or conditioner, its because you got it bleached and it effed up your hair.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

hot oil treatment. pick it up at rite-aid. worked great for my cousin and didnt mess up the color. if that doesnt work, go yell at your stylist.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

I know shave it bald! Then you will think for a change and solve a simple problem on your own. Good Luck!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

go get it fixed or take a shower if u have a certain shampoo then use it to help with the problem and please help me with my question

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Go to a hair dresser and ask them what you can do to help it. That is the only thing i would do because if you tryed something to make it better, you could make it worse.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

try buying some shampoos and conditioners as well as leave on conditioners for perm colored treated hair they do make youre hair much better i've tried them before go to waltmart on any other pharmacy store

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

You can go back to the salon you had it done at and they will give you help, hopefully for free. It is their responsibility to make sure that your hair is healthy when it leaves, after they have done their work!!

Otherwise, a good solution is to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Brush it with a paddle brush and then dry. If it is still crunchy, you really do need to go see the salon and get help from them. Ask for a refund if they refuse!

Hope this helps!!!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

try a different shampoo, maybe one that helps color stay

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

It happens due to the chemicals that are used. I get some conditioning stuff that is called Queen Helene Professional Cholesterol hair conditioning cream. It is for dry, over bleached hair. It works wonders. I put it on my dry head and let it stay for about 15 to 30 minutes and then wash it. It takes about 3 times shampooing it to get it out, but it is amazing. Then I use a heavy conditioning cream once a week. Good Luck

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

You need PROTEIN you have probably over processed your hair and you need to use a shampoo and conditioner and a leave in also, that contain protein like Biosilk or go to Visible Changes at your mall if there is one and ask for any WELLA products that contain protein. This isn't going to be cheap.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Try a hot oil treatment. Don't laugh but mayo helps too. The oils in it, slather it on dry hair, let it soak for about 5 minutes and then wash it out really well. Keep conditioning, maybe try some leave in, don't wash it everyday unless you have to b/c of oil. Don't over use products like hairspray, gel and mouse that contain alcohol and can dry your hair out. Instead try pomades and glosses. You could also try shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Good Shampoo and Conditioner that moiserizes (spelled that wrong lol.) your hair

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

I've never had my hair hi-lighted b/c I have natural blonde hi-lights but, anyway, my best answer is to shampoo and condition it really well... wash all the way to the scalp.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Condition, Condition, Condition!! There are plenty of leave-in conditioners that you can use. Make sure to use shampoo and conditioner that are specifically made for color-treated hair. Also pick up some leave-in anty-frizz serum, there are plenty of different brands around. You can also pick some ultimate moisturizing conditioner, you can either use it instead of the conditioner after shampooing, or apply it to your damp hair once you are out of the shower.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

Sorry to say, I've had this happen. It's when you have too much highlights or too often, or the colorist used too strong a % of bleach. It's just dryness and damage. Using the best at-home treatment every 3-5 days can help. I like Bed Head's "Treat Me Right". It comes in a big tub and really softens it again. Try to stay away from hot irons and dryers for a while, and shampoo as little as possible.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

your hair is over processed and is now damaged and straw like. get a good treatment for your hair. Joico K PAK is fantastic. it has a reconstructor in it so when you use it the molecules in the treatment are working to repair the damage done. its also packed with proteins that are going to help as well. you can find it at most salons.

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

condition the crap out it, its very fragile right now and in danger of breaking. make sure it is very conditioned. stop the highlighting as soon as your past this point, its really not worth it when you consider the touch up work that has to be done. i think wha they did was over-process the top where the roots are, contact the salon!

Hair Question- Need help PLEASE?

get a good deep conditioning treatment or hair mask pronto, the highlighting makes your hair very dry because it destroys the outer layer of your hair in order to take out the pigments that make your hair darker. You'll also need to get a shampoo and conditioner that is moisturizing and make for color treated hair. A drastic tip would be to change your shower head to one that takes out the impurities in water that make it "hard". Soft water (water without the impurities) is better for hair and skin.

Hair stripped?

ok so two years ago i started getting my hair highlighted and now im wondering about getting rid of them all to get my natural color back. is that possible with getting my hair stripped? or will it cause too much damage?

Hair stripped?

the healthiest way would be just to let them grow out and not get them re done.. or just die your hair back to your natural color

Hair stripped?

Do NOT get your hair stripped I got this done %26amp; my hair is dry at the ends.I have to moisturize every other day %26amp; I wouldn't want that to happen to someone else.

Hair stripped?

you dont have to strip your hair at all. depending on what color highlights you have, all you have to do is fill in the missing pigment and color your hair its original color. stripping your hair would turn your whole head orange-its like bleaching the whole thing-damagine. getting rid of the highlights would actually be healthy for your hair. i do recommend that you go to a professional who knows color-that way you get what you want in the end. if you do it yourself you may mess up and leads to color over color which obviously not good for your hair. if you wanted to try it yourself, use a demi permanent or a semi permanent color to your natural -your hair was bleached to highlight it if its naturally black-so if you use a semi or demi on it chances are the highlights will soak up the color.

Hair stripped?

You can wait till your hair grows. Or you can dye your highlights to your natural color

Hair stripped?

I'm the same

but it kinda sucked fro me cause my hair was getting damaged

so you should just grow out you hair and then get it cut or you can just trim your hair every month
