OPINION NEEDED! how should i die/color/highlight my hair?! details inside..?

i have natural medium/dark brown hair. i am caucasian. i have brown eyes and rlly dark colored eyebrows. i have highlighted my hair a few times and right now my hair is really light like dirty blondish but orangy in a way, from highlighting through the pull through hair cap. the roots have grown in about an inch and it looks horrible. i don't know what i should do with my hair, just keep highlighting it would look weird it would only cover some strands, plus my hair is already a lot of shades of highlights. should i all together die my hair like a dirty blonde, or would that come out weird since i have naturally dark hair, or should i just die my entire head like dark brown or maybe a light brown? orrr should i die the top half dark blond/light brown, and the bottom strands dark brownish/black? help please, thank you! (:

With all the multiple colors in your hair you should go to a salon. If you try to color it dirty blonde, more than likely your roots will turn orangey and the rest of your hair will be a different color. Since your highlights are already brassy, you have to be careful about what color you put on it. If you were MY client, I would use Redken Shades EQ and color it a medium brown (as close to your natural color as we could get) and then fix the highlights. I would foil some lighter neutral brown highlights throughout the top of your hair. These colors would look great with your skin tone and help bring out the color of your eyes. With brown eyes, darker brown hair will bring out their color. You would save money in the long run getting it done professionally because you will spend a lot of money buying different color to try to get it right.

lol you sound like me..its kinda funny actually cause we're really alike.

okay so anyways about your hair..mine was the exact way with the highlights %26amp;%26amp; im not allowed to get it done professionally cause idk my moms weird. but what i did when my highlights got really bad in my roots i died my hair a dark blonde %26amp;%26amp; loved it! it was light yet not to out there. plus it covered up my roots great! you're probably gonna have to keep dying it until the highlights grow all the way out..thats why im not gonna highlight my hair again cause its just too much work to keep it up. sooo thats my suggestion! i think the brand i used was Revlon and it was like only $3 at walmart.

give your hair a rest. Dye it one color. except, in a SALON. Those kits and **** just kill your hair, trust me. Dye it dark, so it can get healthy n ****. so a dark brown, to match your eyebrows. and leave it that way for a long time so it can get healthy.

You didnt ruin your hair. ..

Maybe you should gradually add back some darker and lighter brown and tone the blonde to get a honey color mixed in with the brown. That way it wont seem so drastic from your natural color.

Or you could color it all over a lighter brown and then later add in some honey colored highlights. . but go to a pro. because diy coloring from like a drugstore tends to turn out drab looking. A pro will be able to do it right the first time and the color will be prettier.
